The Jamal Moore Memorial Scholarship, presented by Jamal Smiles, was created to honor the life and legacy of Jamal Moore by supporting and empowering the next generation of leaders. This scholarship is awarded to deserving Louisiana high school seniors who demonstrate academic commitment, purpose, and a desire to further their education.

Up to $1000 Scholarship Award

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be a graduating high school senior in Louisiana

• Have a minimum GPA of 2.5

• Plan to attend an accredited college or university (2 or 4 year)

• Submit a completed application

Essay Requirements:

Please submit an essay of 300 to 500 words, written in your own words. In your essay, explain how you define success and purpose in your life. Discuss how your plans for college and your future career will help you become a leader, uplift others, and make a positive difference in your community.

Be sure to clearly connect your personal values, educational goals, and career aspirations to how you intend to serve and impact others. 

Once completed, save and submit your essay as a PDF file.
